Privacy Policy

We are acting as a Controller in respect of your personal data, and it is therefore our responsibility to ensure that any sharing or processing of this data is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations. How we obtain data from you
We may obtain and process personal data from you via our website, from you directly by telephone, face to face, or e mail or written correspondence. Occasionally we may obtain your personal data from your employer, third party organisations or individuals with whom you have agreed to share your information. We may also receive it from insurers, other insurance intermediaries, firms handling claims and finance providers.

The data that we hold for Customers & Employees.
Depending on the products or services we supply to you, or your employer or the nature or capacity within which we access, receive, or administer your products or services, we may hold the following data:

Name, address, contact details including email, telephone, gender, marital status, date of birth, Employer details, will be obtained.

Company Name, Registration number, Bank account name number, VAT identification number and other financial information will be retained,

Employees

Personal data will be obtained to comply with legal obligations to disclose salary details to HMRC.

Any fraud or criminal convictions or allegations of crime, including driving offence. Sanctions relating to anti-fraud databases or law enforcement agencies may be obtained for client protection and company insurance policies.

As an employer medical conditions, health status, injury, disability, and medical procedures performed may be obtained relating to relevant insurance policies. Details relating to habits such as smoking or alcohol consumption may be obtained, as well as prescription and medical history. Where our insurers require genetic or biometric data this may also be obtained.

Purpose of processing and lawful basis
In providing your personal data you acknowledge we will process your data for the specific purpose of carrying out electrical installation works for clients and with employees. This processing is necessary for yours or your employer’s legitimate interests to enable us to administer these works on your behalf. It is also necessary to enable us to take specific steps before you enter a contract.

We may also process your data if it is necessary for your legitimate interests unless there is a good reason to protect your personal data which overrides those legitimate interests.

We will process your personal data for the purpose of marketing either our own or carefully selected third party providers, only if you have consented to receive this or we believe it is in your legitimate interest.

Special category data will only be obtained and processed for reasons of substantial public interest or with your consent.

How we use your personal data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:

To provide electrical quotations to clients

For the general administration of contracts maintenance, and testing & inspection checks, and invoicing.

Contacting you to arrange routine electrical checks and annual electrical inspection appointments.

These activities may involve us sharing your personal data with insurers, and may involve our sharing it with other advisers, agents, contractors, and finance providers.

We may retain and disclose your personal data to comply with any statutory, legal or regulatory obligations.

We are required to report and may also need to disclose information about our employees, including personal data, to certain bodies that have statutory powers, for example, the Department of Work and Pensions.

We may use your data to provide you with marketing, newsletters, or promotional materials, if you have opted to receive these communications.

We do not sell your personal data to any other organisations or transfer it outside the EU and we do not use automated decision making including profiling.

Retention period
We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Individuals Rights
You have the right to obtain from us the personal information we hold about you a written request will be required.

You have the right to have your personal data rectified if you feel it is inaccurate or incomplete.

You have the right to block or restrict the processing of your personal data which will prevent any further processing but not storage. However, in consideration, should we feel there are legitimate grounds to override your request we will inform you.

You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data when it is no longer necessary in relation to the purpose it was intended for. We have the right to deny this request if your data is required to comply with a legal obligation for the performance of a public interest task, or the exercise or defence of legal claims.

Should you wish to obtain, transfer, update, rectify or delete your data please contact the Compliance Manager. Upon receipt, your request will be actioned within one calendar month.

Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. We have in place appropriate safeguards relevant to the sensitivity of the information we maintain. We restrict Personal Data access to personnel and third parties and data will only be provided to those who lawfully require information for legitimate and relevant business needs.

How to complain
We are committed to complying with all relevant data protection legislation including the General Data Protection Regulations and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations

Terms of Use

These terms and conditions are provided by Manchester Electricians Ltd. County End Business Centre, Unit 7b Jackson Street, Springhead, Oldham OL4 4TZ. Our main switchboard number 0161 207 3000.

1. An instruction to carry out work, whether written or verbal will be taken as acceptance of the terms and conditions detailed below.

2. An estimate is given as an approximate price calculated with all reasonable care by use of available and visible information obtained at the time of the quotation, it will be given where an exact price is impossible to give due to lack of information or inaccessible installations.

3. A quotation is an offer to complete the work specified at the price given, any further work requested by the client will be accepted via new quotation or an updated quotation as agreed by the client and Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd.

4. All work carries a 2-year labour Guarantee against defective workmanship. All materials such as electronic equipment, luminaries and all forms of accessories which carry a manufacturer’s warranty will be subject to that warranty. Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd will accept no responsibility for defects introduced by tampering or alterations made to the electrical installation after the completion of the works.

5. Prices do not include any charges made by the electricity supply authority (DNO) unless otherwise stated.

6. Variations to the quote, or additional work required will be detailed by the client in writing as soon as possible to enable an updated quotation/estimate to be agreed upon by the client and Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd.

7. Emergency work will be agreed between the client and Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd prior to work being carried out. Should urgent work be required, and the client is not available, Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd will endeavour to carry out the work using the safest and most cost-effective solution to the client unless expressly forbidden beforehand. This work will be chargeable to the client at our current standard rates. This may result in certain circuits being isolated until a safe and cost-effective solution be found to the problem.

8. All work will be carried out by suitably qualified engineers and will comply with all relevant and current British Standards alongside other applicable regulations.

9. All work will be ‘made good’ by Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd; this is limited to re-fitment of Ceiling tiles, Commercial floating floors, Domestic floors boarding but does not include re-decoration, plastering or commercial fire stops unless stated in the estimate/quotation.

11. Equipment and accessories supplied by the client. Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd reserves the right to refuse to fit sub-standard, non-compliant accessories or equipment supplied by the client. Quotes and estimates tendered by the company are based on the fitting of standard electrical accessories. Accessories that require excessive preparation, modification or nonstandard fitment may incur extra cost to the client. Any additional work needed after completion due to faulty materials (supplied by the client) will be charged directly to the client.

12. Whilst undertaking testing works and periodic inspections, it is the responsibility of the client to organise disconnect of all sensitive equipment from the mains which may be damaged by high test voltages, this may include computers, telephones, charging equipment and kitchen appliances. You must inform Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd if you suspect that any PIR outside lighting equipment may be connected to the socket ring main.

13. Billing. For work and estimated contracted period of more than one month, Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd will invoice clients on a two-weekly period for materials and labour costs. All invoices will have a payment request for payment in full to be made within 28 days from the invoice date or satisfactory completion. Payments are required by bank transfer as checks are subject to a £30.00 plus vat admin charge due to Labour and parking charges taking check to bank. Bank Details are listed on each invoice. All invoices and quotations are subject to VAT at current rate.

14. Waste removal. Unless stated for or agreed in a quotation waste of any kind will be placed in area requested by client but will not be removed from site. An extra cost will be charged if Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd are instructed by the customer to remove the waste at any point from start to finish of the agreed works.

15. Access equipment supplied by the client (Ladders, Mewp’s and Scaffold) must be of good condition and be capable of being used in the required environment. No allowance for electrical supplies to light or recharge electrical equipment such as Mewp’s, nor do we carry out re-fuelling of Mewp’s unless this has been allowed for in any estimates or quotation, or unless specifically categorised or listed prior to start of works, if required this would be an extra cost to the client.

16. Complaints. Where we cannot resolve any complaints using our own complaints procedure, as a NICEIC Member we suggest you use their services for dispute resolution as they are there to protect the customer. In the unlikely event of a complaint arising and you wish to refer the complaint to them please contact NICEIC in the first instance on 0333 015 6625.

17. Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd are not responsible for any materials onsite that maybe stolen or removed at any point through the installation due to the site (works address) NOT being secure for any reason. Regarding loss of materials Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd liability tradesman’s insurance will not cover any losses due to client.

18 Manchester Electricians Ltd Ltd Carries P&L Policy with Employers Liability with an indemnity limit of £10,000,000 and a Public Liability with an indemnity limit of £5,000,000, if you require a copy, it is available on written request.
